mechanical engineering design division
]
Originally named Automotive Engine Design Centre,
services were provided for engine design projects, from initial
concept through to production parts and assemblies. Pro/Engineer
software being used to produce the 3D CAD models and the complete
engine assemblies.
Due to the nature of automotive engine design, utilising complex
3D CAD construction and manipulation of computer data, coupled
with various advanced techniques for rapid prototyping, the centre
quickly diversified into other market areas.
The Division has now grown and accumulated expertise in many areas,
diversification has led to major projects in safety breathing
apparatus for the Defence industry, tooling design for the Nuclear
Decommissioning industry and various other projects involving
plastic injection moulding tooling, sheet metal work, sand castings
and forgings.
